And by the way a "pajama" is originally a Persian garment. I will not have this. I sleep naked like a true Spartan, and put some bloody clothes on when I write.

Glad to let you know that I have a small piece up at Pajamas Media:

Sarkozy's Failures Hidden Under a Burka (not my title)

Controversies surrounding Muslims conveniently distract attention from the French president's unkept promises. (not my pitch)

But the article is—mostly—mine.

Why the caveats? Because I have had An Editor editing my numerous abuses of the English language prose, which never happens here, where you get the stuff raw and just have to chew on it as best as you can.

S/He/They did a good job though. Of course, as the author I felt like there were too many things edited out ("Oh not this! Hey why that? And that was funny, why why why not keep that?!") but then:

– I'm the guy who delivered a copy that was nearly 1/3rd longer than what they asked, and
– As the regular guests here know too well, I have a hard tendency to send the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level through the roof.

So even if that doesn't sound totally like me, that's cool by me.

Content de vous informer que j'ai un "papier" en ligne chez Pajamas Media :

Sarkozy's Failures Hidden Under a Burka (pas mon titre)

Controversies surrounding Muslims conveniently distract attention from the French president's unkept promises.

So nightly skinny-dipper, are you going to let us read the complete unedited article? After that build-up I was expecting a link to the orginal in all its glory. Non, we are to content ourselves with the remains left unsavaged by the PJ Media editor. Sigh. Tankt pis pour nous.

Diminished though it may be, still an excellent read. Congratulations DF on swimming in a larger pond.

Wonderful article.

Off topic, but I just had to share:

The American poor we hear about so often from European and American Left -- times are hard for them I tell you!

Perhaps allow a burka to cover up the problem, er distraction?

It comes across quite well. Surgery by editor is always preferable to surgery by doctor! I linked this one out, too. Ever still the DF missionary.

Loved it Froggy! Keep up the great work! It's good to see a good guy get recognition. You deserve such recognition.

Thanks for all you do and write...JG

Even though it may have been edited it is still a great read. Sarkozy's use of distraction as one reader commented is classic. The smoke and mirrors approach to governemnt just took a hit thanks to our DF.

Ok, someone more wise to this site please tutor me: I had three or so e-mails stating someone had "responded to my comments". ??? Of course I thought this must be some type of spam, as I've commented here before and never gotten any e-mails -- so of course being the paranoid wench I am (anything remotely odd I delete posthaste), I instantly deleted them. If it was indeed some spam, then I'm not remorseful. If it wasn't, my apologies and next time I won't delete.

So, spam or response? How can I tell the difference?

Did you check the "email" or "RSS" feed box at the bottom of the post comment page?

Jane:
it's very likely indeed that you ticked the "Email" checkbox below the comment form - willingly or inadvertently. Granted, the email title is a bit misleading, as you would receive a notification for every new comment in the thread, not just those from people who specifically answer you (I don't do threaded comments on the site - yet). The chances for these to be spam are very low, as it would require the spammer to impersonate the email account of the system.

In any case, there really isn't much value in these emails beyond the notification purpose - it's quite all right to delete them anyway.

Please do let me know if you're positive you didn't tick the box and still receive notifications, as I would then investigate to see if something is, well... working when we don't expect it to (Hey, that would be a new one...)

Gina:
we're not there yet, but I definitely consider any step in that direction, no matter how modest, to be a perfectly reasonable use of my kinetic energy.
