I wish to sincerely thank a veteran of the dissident frogman's support team, Marc M. for his renewed support and also urge you to welcome a new recruit, nicknamed Texas Rose with at least half of my enthusiasm.

It must be said that this Texas Rose is not the same as the one I mentioned in a recent post. Looks like I'm starting to be surrounded with Texas Roses (well, 2 is a start) and I certainly won't complain.

Anybody wishing harm to the frogman should actually ponder on the words of one of the Roses' husband. He mentioned something about thorns.

To the good readers of this superb blog: Support your local frogman. How many of those of you reading this most excellent blog are Texan? And of those Texans, how many are Yellow Roses? Just curious. Because I imagine there are quite a few sons &aughters of the Lone Star State who appreciate the good work of the noble DF. (Now before all you yankees get your whiskers in a twist, did I say you didn't appreciate him? No, I did not. Thank you.)

Yup. Lived there, done that. Blue Texas sky, bar-b-q and remember Roger Staubach? Mind you, I was in diapers when he played... :)

I'm taking great pride in being called a friend by some of them, who honor me with their correspondence. I dropped my TV antenna two days after 9/11, in a desperate attempt to save the TV set from a brutal albeit fast destruction at the sight of the French felony among the journalists, experts in this and experts in that and politicians of all sides. Ever heard that "Well, the US deserved it" ? Trust me, it was never heard louder than in France. Off with the antenna. Anyway, all I want to say is that I never watched Walker Texas Ranger before, and there's very little chance I will watch it one day, I guess. Is it any good? (For your information, the only TV series I consider worthy of the Frogman's Masterpiece Award is Band of Brothers. That gives you the scale.)
Time to take sides

Walker, Texas Ranger stars Chuck Norris. A Texas Ranger is a type of police detective here in TX. They wear cowboy hats, boots and have a long and storied history. Seeing as Chuck is a martial artist, the show revolves around him going around, solving crimes and kicking a lot of ass. It's OK, I guess, if you have an hour to kill and want some light entertainment. It's certainly no Band of Brothers, that's for sure. BoB was a great, great show. It should be required viewing for EUnichs everywhere.

"Walker" isn't great, and it's not really much like Texas. But the Rangers have a well-deserved reputation for toughness. In the early days, they were killers with a smidgen of justice, and they didn't fool around. An early motto was "One riot, one Ranger" You know, Texas was a sovereign nation at one time, and never officially modified its constitution to surrender sovereignty to the US, and some of us still behave as though we don't bow to Washington. I'm a passionate Texas "patriot", and live in China now, so I appreciate your site for dual reasons. If you want to know more about Texas, or China, let me know and I'll be happy to fill you in. It's the least I can do. Great blog. Keep it up, but I wouldn't care to have your babies, thanks. Sam

Howdy Frogman, Eigth generation Texan here. I had relatives living in Texas before it was a Republic, much less a member of the Union. Great blog you have here. How about cluing us in on this whole Crédit Lyonnais scandal. There is little word about it here in the mainstream media. From what little I have found on the subject, I would think ol' Chirac is madder than a wet hen, and more nervous that a long-tailed cat in room full of rocking chairs right now.
