Don't worry about problems with mocking the U.S. President. In reality, we don't have a President -- oh, there's an individual with that title, but he has no more concept of the duties and requirements of that office than Piggy does. He's a placeholder, a bobblehead doll put in the driver's seat, and you may (and should) mock him to whatever extent you may like.

Obama should be easy for you; you have a lot of them. Think of the Union dock boss in, say, Marseilles, the kind of guy who lives in a refurbed 17th-century castle and goes down to the workplace in a chauffered car to make speeches about Worker Solidarity. Got the picture in your mind? Now think of one of his assistants, one of the ones who actually goes aboard the ship to shake the skipper down for the special contributions. That's our Barack.

I'd be especially interested in the French (and other European) Press's reactions. The Brits seem to be getting it, albeit belatedly. What's Paris-Match got to say?

Regards,
Ric
