Unfortunately, vioence is the only way to "keep them at bay", for violence is the only way they understand (they want a revolution, right? There is no need for vote. By the way, has any truly communist government ever been elected?). When that happens, though, they claim to be powerless against the violence that is inherent to capitalism.
