This is as fine a day as when the Iraqis pulled down that statue of Sadman Hussein in Baghdad, greeting it with a hailstorm of shoes and debris. The genuine article can look forward to slightly more formidable consequences - or at least, we can look forward to it. Meantime, while the Knicker-Twisted and their slack-jawed enablers scowl (why, it's almost as if Bush won Florida again!), I look at all the pictures of weeping, cheering Iraqis, dancing in the streets and handing out candy to anything with more animation than a drugstore Indian. This moment is theirs. If one wants to pout because the long-oppressed breathe more freely, and if you hate liberation because you don't care for the liberator, well, feel free. Enjoy (if that's the word) your misery; we have better business to attend to - we rejoice.
