BTW, I would like you to know that no one in Louisiana ever refers to it as french-Louisiana, unless of course they are corresponding to an internationally-read blog. The level of disdain here in Baton Rouge for nearly all things french is probably higher than in most other places in the States. Unfortunately, the State Legislature has dropped the bill declaring chirac (or his representative) persona non grata at the Bonne Fete celebration slated for next spring. They have (appropriately) left dis-inviting Jacques-ass to the federal government. I've read some preposterous comments from french out there on the web to the effect of "Free Louisiana" (all in Parisian french, of course). I don't know what's funnier: that frenchmen actually make these silly comments, or that they actually believe we cajuns think we aren't free now. Keep up the excellent blogging.
