Sorry folks, but it appears the busy part largely took over the chaotic one, and I have not been able to post in the past week.Plus, I've had me some Adventures in Adversity and I also have the hunting and killing of a venomous snake (that looks like Vipera aspis from what I'm told) added to my to-do list. While I would favor my good old 12 gauge over anything else for that kind of duty, the close neighborhood environment requires a stealthier option; making it a perfect opportunity for my silenced and scoped .22 and her subsonic little friends(1) — this should be more fun than work.
More on that soon, as my schedule is beginning to clear up a bit.
How are you, Dear Reader(2), holding up? Killed anything interesting lately?

just killed lots of stuff: two Augustiner helles, one antipasto of hot nduja, two pizza with finferli and pachino tomatoes, one grappa, one limoncino, and one amaro.
I got my last snake in 1990. Snakes make good cajun fry. Mahlzeit!

Well, a pile of replies in my email inbox, so commenting blind, but getting cheerful suggestions. Here's another try. Using Microsoft - and fiddled the security software to a lower level, but that log-in toggle still has bad jou-jou for me. Not good to have software ignorant person on blog that pushes the multi-media envelope.

I recently came up on a Cottonmouth right beside one of our cats, not far from our back door! I didn't have time to get a gun, just a machete. The snake paid the cat no mind but he sure was interested in me even before I had the machete lol. When my sons were young, my maternal instincts overcame my terror enough that I could kill a snake with whatever was at hand. When my sons became teenagers they insisted on killing them. They skinned them and tacked the skins up on their fort and cooked and ate the snake-meat. Anyhoo - the snake and I had a Mexican stand-off, I just couldn't make myself get close enough to give him a machete chop, he was obviously coiled and waiting on me to make a move. I did get the cat away from him though. Finally it slithered away, so then I got brave and chased it all the way to the woods and threw the machete at him, teh heh, that'll teach him to come in my yard and bother my cat! (Not)

Haven't killed anything but I did get another 12 gauge on Saturday. That makes 2 plus the .22 and the AR-15.
