From a former French officer's point of view, war is the horror indeed:
First, ~~Ze Krauts~~ the enemy come so fast that you hardly have the time to drop your gun.
Then you have to run as fast and as long as you can which is not an easy thing to do when you're not used to because one can't be an expert in cards playing/booze drinking and combat training at the same time.
What's more, ~~Ze Krauts~~ the enemy's tanks, trucks, planes and other vehicles are way faster than the one you don't have and it's definitely unfair because they're motorized to do their Blitzkrieg stuff while you have to do your Blitzrunaway on foot.

And there is also the question of getting rid of those darn uniforms and get yourself some civilian clothes if you don't want to spend the next four years or so ~~in Germany~~ as a POW.

Du point de vue d'un ancien officier Français, la guerre est très certainement une horreur :
D'abord, ~~Les Boches~~ l'ennemi arrive si rapidement que vous avez à peine le temps de jeter le fusil.
Ensuite, il vous faut courir aussi vite et aussi loin que possible ce qui n'est pas facile quand vous n'êtes pas habitué car on ne peux pas jouer au cartes en picolant et en même temps s'entraîner au parcours du combattant.
En plus, les chars, camions, avions et autres véhicules ~~Des Boches~~ de l'ennemi sont plus rapides que ceux que vous n'avez pas ce qui est vraiment trop injuste car eux sont motorisés pour faire leur truc de Blitzkrieg alors que vous devez vous taper votre BlitzSauveQuiPeut à pied.

Et il y a aussi la question de se débarrasser de ces stupides uniformes et de se trouver des fringues de civil si vous ne voulez pas passer les quatre années suivantes ~~en Allemagne~~ en camp de prisonniers.

Bravo pour vos commentaires, pas toujours très académiques mais on s'en moque ! L'important est de dire les choses. Sur la guerre en Irak, en particulier, on lit et on entend un grand nombre de sottises, surtout de la part de jeunes ( ou de vieux cons soixante-huitards-baba-cools-attardés). Saddam devait être écarté et, avec des crocodiles sortant tout droit de l'Antiquité ( ne se prend-il pas pour Nabuchodonosor ? ) il fallait, hélas, la manière forte. Quel juif dans le ghetto de Varsovie ait jamais réussi à convaincre un SS de l'épargner, rien qu'en " communiquant " avec lui ? Saddam ( le petit Hitler et non Bush ) n'en a rien à cirer des pacifistes et des inspecteurs de l' ONU, ce qu'il voulait c'était de gagner du temps. Point. On a envoyé des bombes sur la tronche de ses sbires qui, entretemps ne s'emploiront plus à remplir des charniers. C'est déjà ça de gagné.
